Facts About Babies that Will Surprise You

Monday, December 12, 2011

Despite the fact that the following piece of writing may be broadly about "Baby Care", it will eventually serve people that happen to be looking especially for more knowledge about "Baby Care". But needless to say, you will want to actually go through the piece of writing in it's entirety so you can get the actual meat and nuggets included herein.

Sure you know that most of a baby’s day involves sleeping eating and bowel relief. Have you learned why babies’ bodies move the way they move? Have you figured out the secret to infant development? Most of us don’t worry about the minutiae of infant development. Other people are fascinated by the way a baby grows and develops as it is conceived, grows within the mother, is born and then grows up.

Babies are always changing and surprising you! Think of what you know about babies and toss half of it out—you’ve been given a lot of bad information! Read on to learn more about babies and early childhood development!

Babies are not skilled at telling the difference between most of the colors they see. It takes a while after being born for a baby’s eyes to finish developing and for the synapses from the eyes to the brain to be fully formed. This is one of the reasons why babies respond better to primary colors whey they are used in a room or on toys. Bold and bright colors like reds and greens and blues or even white and black are the easiest colors for babies to see. It is difficult for a baby to tell the difference between softer or more pastel shades.

Believe it or not, this is why a baby will sometimes favor certain toys. This means that all of those black and white decorations that you scoff at (for various reasons) are actually better for your baby’s eyes than the pastel and soft colored decorations you were planning to use.

Even while they are in utero, babies can identify music. As early as six weeks before birth, infants can recognize songs. This is about six weeks before the baby is due to be born! Some women say that they will sometimes feel their babies moving to the rhythm of some music. So a person’s musical preference does show up before the child is conditioned to like one type of music over another. Doesn’t that astound you?

You already know that babies cry when they need something but did you know that those cries do not involve tears until two or three weeks after the baby’s birth? Tears are made up of water and hormones that are excreted when a person is under stress. This hormone secretion is the main reason that stressed out people cry: the body ridding itself of that hormone helps calm everything down. Your baby won’t create this hormone until after you have given birth to him. It can take some infants a few weeks to begin producing this hormone and real tears. Your baby might take a couple of months to begin crying real tears. Babies are really interesting little people. Nobody really knows exactly how they learn or how quickly they learn it. There is, however, a universal consensus on just how wonderful it is to watch babies grow up: they change every single day!
