The Rewards of Vigorous Exercise

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Fitness is a vital topic for everyone that is really interested in their health. Many of us take the pledge each year to get in shape, but few of us recognize what action to take or what level of commitment is needed to make it happen. This write-up serves to provide you with all the ideas and advice you need to have to make your dream a reality.

Sex makes an incredible weight loss tool. This is some of the most exciting and least work-like exercising you can do. Healthy sex will help you get fit and is a wonderful way to include your partner in your pursuit for weight loss. You will get in shape and improve your relationship.

To get the most benefit out of your strength coaching, incorporate stretches into your routine. At least one scientific study suggests that if you pause after training your muscles and devote 20-30 seconds stretching out whatever muscle (or set of muscles) it is you've been working, this will improve your strength.

You might have a distinct goal in your healthy living journey. However, you should avoid obsessing over this goal. Ideally, fitness is a life-long habit, not a short-term fix. Your fitness program should be one that you personally find enjoyable so that you will not be tempted to abandon it. While there is such a thing as getting "too fit," there is no point in time, where you can begin ignoring your fitness entirely.

Reduce your time in the health club by not taking as long to rest in between sets of weightlifting. When you first begin lifting weights your muscles are still strong enough to go right through. Think intuitively and take breaks when you want them, but you can cut down a good 10-20% off your gym time by cutting down on those early breaks, which would allow you to move on to something else that much quicker.

If jogging or hitting the health club is not your thing and you enjoy gardening, how about getting the shovel and wheelbarrow out and getting in a little physical exercise in your yard? In fact, the National Institute of Health, lists gardening amongst the moderate exercises that are recommeneded for combating obesity. Just weeding for 30 minutes can burn more than 150 calories and you are going to work muscles in your back, legs and arms, without the jarring that jogging and aerobic exercises puts your body through. So the next time you dread putting on your jogging shoes, pick up a hoe and take care of that flower bed you've been meaning to get to, for the last month. It really is enjoyable and great for your body.

Each of us has some impression of our ideal selves, but although we may never have rock hard abs, a commitment to fitness is really giving yourself and your loved ones, the gift of an extended life. By applying the ideas and advice from this write-up to your day-to-day life, you will begin to shed the pounds that you've been looking to lose and you will feel better in general. Fitness is never, time wasted.
